Discussion:
Problem logging in
(too old to reply)

I'm guessing it's due to the new server changes (again) but my SDC isn't
logging in properly...

It *looks* like it's logged in and the login.txt file shows $RETCODE=1$
(i.e good) but the main problem is that I can't reply to forum posts.
Plus there's ads appearing that aren't there normally.

I'm using ver 2.32.397 build 120

Will this fix itself when the server situation settles down?

Regards,
Chris.

MS AntiSpyware Beta, AdAware, Spybot all report no problems. Firewall
was disabled (as a test).

It was working fine up until Stardock announced the recent additional
servers & network upgrades etc. Changing servers in SDC and re-entering
login details did nothing to help either.

Chris.
The general symptom is that the threads all end with the last message
whereas there should be a text edit box (to enter a reply) and submit
button, smileys etc all of which are missing. This is on all the topics
that I can access.

I've tried resetting the lists and when that didn't work I deleted all
the discussion files which didn't work either.

SDC just updated itself to 2.32.398 Build 129 and I reset (& deleted)
the discussion files with no improvement in the situation...

On question about the login details... Upon my first ObjectDesktop
subscription I got a serial number SU-XXXXXX which recently changed to
one of the form OD-XXXXXXX-XXX-XXXXXXXXXX.

Now, this latter number works fine for registering the OD apps from
within SDC, however the login for SDC itself refuses to work with the
OD-(...) serial, but is OK (rather *appears* to be OK i.e with the above
symptoms) with the SU-(...) serial.

Could this be related?

Cheers,
Chris.

Hi, I have the problem of logging in also, plus I can't even get to
stardock's website. Is it down or something. Otherwise web works fine & my
WC browser works too.

I figured I'd try here since there was already a thread something like
my issue and I haven't received any response from support which is odd.
Usually I get a response quickly.

Anyway my problem is with the Wincustomize section of SDC. Within the
last few days I am unable to download skins in SDC nor participate in
comments for skins there. Its like I'm not logged in. However by all
indications SDC says I'm logged in.
I know my login information is correct as I am no problem accessing the
skins/comments on the Wincustomize site itself.
My account should be setup for ***@gmail.com I recently changed it
from ***@mailaka.net , but I changed it after I was having
problems hoping it might correct it, but it didn't.

Thanks

Hmm. Might be due to the recent WinCustomize server upgrades. Got the
latest version of Stardock Central?

Yup up to date on SDC. Finally did get a response from support, guess
they have been busy. They tweaked something and it works now.
Thanks

The unexpected popularity of GalCiv II has been a major drain on our
support resources. I apologise for this - we've been trying to hire new
staff and clear out the backlog. :-)
