tried to use "Add/Remove Windows Components" in Add/Remove programs.
sysocmgr.exe process got stuck. I killed the first process after 20
minutes, tried again. This time I killed sdmcp.exe -0- and lo & behold
the OS started working again.
SDC 2.10.344 build 95
Right cli.....oh wait SDC 2.10a.346 is available. Since the last update
has hosed my system, should I install this one?

Please post a method for rolling back SDC to a version of March of 2005
whilst I attempt accepting your update, close my multiplicity of Windows
and Virtual Machines, and reboot.

This better work this time....I am tired of sdmcp.exe locking up my system.

No, the latest version of SDC did not fix the problem with sdmcp.exe
stopping the proper execution of sysocmgr.exe -- ie Add/Remove Windows
components.

I would submit a request thru normal website support channels; but the
email autoresponder is the only response ever received.

There is an autoresponse sent out to every email we receive. What
information did you receive on the autoresponse email?

The latest build of SDC has corrected the issue.

I tried to uninstall Stardock Central. the command
.....\sdmcp.exe -shutdown

hung. I manually killed the process; the uninstall completed.

sdmcp interferes with the proper operation of McAfee ePolicy
Orchestrator 3.6.0 console. The McAfee console makes use of IE; IE fails
to execute with Stardock Central installed. This occurs on both a W2K3
and WinXP SP2 platform.

Again, same processes show I/O: crss.exe, lsass.exe, services.exe,
svchost.exe, iexplore.exe (minor), explorer.exe(minor).

I uninstalled Stardock Central 2.10a.348 build 95, upgraded to W2K3
Service Pack 1, reinstalled Stardock Central. The McAfee ePolicy issue
is no longer.

Curious, before the process was "sdmcp.exe"; now the service is
"SDCMP.EXE". Along with "SDCENT~1.EXE"
