Current SDC settings are not being saved between sessions, even though the
option is checked in Settings...

Also, SDC did not close when I clicked OK on the "SDC needs to be
restarted..." dialog. It restarted itself after I manually closed it,
however.

Which sdc settings are not being saved?

The latest version should fix the prompt for correctly restarting sdc.

Thanks,
Brian

Same trouble with SDC 2.06a.324 buid 85 and yep it's annoying
Complement of information :

When updating to SDC 2.06 323 build 84, after it's asked to reboot the
PC, when trying to launch SDC i get this error message:

"This application wasn't able to load because wcforums.dll was not
found. A reinstall of this application may correct the problem"

Though i reinstall over with latest stardockcentral205.exe (73339 Ko)
from the website, which brings me to SDC 2.05.319 build 83, then i
accept the update to SDC 2.06a.324 build 85 and it's not asked to reboot
the PC, but only to restart SDC (which doesn't work in fact ... though i
close it manually) and when restarted i get the troubles mentionned
(settings for displaying are not saved)

I had the same wcforums.dll problem. I couldn't uninstall
(install.log was there, but I think unwise.exe may have been missing).
I installed the downloaded version (83?) over the broken install.
That worked. I updated, rebooted, I think, and SDC wouldn't work. It
appeared that the updated files hadn't been decompressed (ie. I could
see files with the _ in them in the directory). I deleted the files
in the SDC root dir and installed again. This time, I didn't allow it
to update. I haven't tried to install any components since this
sequence, but it shows me up-to-date versions.

I neglected to mention that enlarging the application pane by dragging the
frame bottom down causes the History & Website links to move off the page.

New build 2.06a.324 build 85 ... it prompting to restart.... to restart
the whole computer and I wasn't prepared for that lol. I was so used to
SDC only restarting itself, and bam my whole computer was restarting. I
realize I shouldn't click so quickly without reading, but also was used
to SDC only restarting itself.

Not sure if its intended to do a restart of the system so figured I'd
mention it.

Probably due to an update to SDMCP.

It *does* happen from time to time ;-)

After installing this build and rebooting not all my running program
icons would show in the System Tray. Eventually I had to use System
Restore (XP Home SP2) to revert to the previous version / settings for
the icons to show again. Presumably this is something to do with the
Stardock Trayserver.exe background file running from the Common Files
folder.

It's the MCP process. Disable both options for it it in SDC and reboot and
it'll work again. No word from Stardock on it as I can see, but lots of
people reporting it.

True, MCP is being upset by SDC updates. Depending on what you're using
to display the tray then you may, or may not, need trayserver.exe. MCP
is supposed to be superceding trayserver IIRC.

I'm using OD+ to display the system tray and I've renamed trayserver so
it won't load, and manually restored the MCP files to make it work again.

Maybe it'll work for you.

The trayserver handles tray icons for ObjectBar 1.xx and old versions of
DesktopX. MCP handles them for ObjectBar 2.xx (and 1.99) and current
versions of DesktopX, and (I think) ObjectDock. This is the
"notification area" support.

The MCP (but not TrayServer.exe) *also* starts up Stardock programs if
you set them to "Run on startup". This is the "MCP SmartStartup"
support.

I run WindowBlinds, ObjectDock+, WFX, IconPackager, CursorXP, Bootskin
and Logon. I just disabled "enable MPC notification support" and "Enable
smartstatup" reboot several times the PC, use it with different apps,
and i can't see any difference with or without those MCP ...

When you say "i can't see any difference with or without..." do you mean
it's working 'with or without', or *not* working 'with or without'?
