It's been a while but I just reinstalled my system and end up with the usual
chaos in the start menu. Before fixing this up I looked at what Stardock
programs I have installed, why do they have to have three separate entries
in the start menu? Shouldn't all the programs end up under the Stardock
folder by default? Why have both Stardock, Object Desktop and Stardock
CursorXP on the menu? Why not have Stardock, period, and then stuff whatever
different projects into subfolders?

It would make sense if the default structure created was for example

Stardock
Stardock/Object Desktop
Stardock/Cursor XP

Thus, less clutter.

Yes, I know, I can change this myself, and I will - but isn't it a really
stupid default?

You forgot Natural Desktop, Stardock Games, Total Gaming and WinCustomize.
There are probably some more, but I don't have licences for them.

Well, of course. But these are the only ones I use and thus could verify.

Or hey, why does IconPackager have an icon and then ALSO a subfolder? If
this alls follow any conformity or standard, I bet it has something to do
with chaos :-). Does Iconpackager has its own folder for the themes? Yes.
Does Windowblinds? No.

Okay again, this is a pretty small thing to whine about, but it's also
something that shouldn't have existed in the first place, and would make
things look more neat and professionally handled.

I totally agree with you. Everytime I update a program of Stardocks I
can't choose to not have Start menu entries created. So I get them all
over again. Its easy enough to delete, however I should be able to
choose not to have them installed in the first place.

I understand somewhat why CursorXP is separate, but it should still go
under the Stardock folder and not have its own folder, same with
Wincustomize.

I would imagine it's because they were developed by different people who
have different styles.

I admit I don't like the WB approach. Way too messy. Many have asked
for the ability to designate a skin folder. That would take care of
that. I don't know what that would involve, programming-wise, though.
