Hi guys,

I just ordered Galactic Civilizations 2.
When I filled in all the credit card information and was taken to the
next page I was struck with an error message:

Thank you for your Order. Following is a summary of the transaction.
Please print it out to keep as a receipt of your transaction.

An error occurred while processing your order Error Message: General
Processing Error # 1000 - Please try to notify ***@stardock.com

Any idea if my order has been filled, I have not received an e-mail and
it is 4 hours since I made the order.

I had the same problem. Call them. They'll help you.

Hmmm.... It's 1-888-STARDOCK. Do you get charge for 1-800 number calls? Or
are they not accessible from another country? Here in the States it's toll
free for the caller, the company pays for the call.

When I tried to email them when it happened I never got a reply, that's why
I called & did over the phone.

I don't know if it went through or not, but if you never received an email
about your purchase it may not have. Since then I've learned that if you
are using an virus scanner with an email scanner it can interfere with the
order process. If you're using Zone Alarm, it also has an email scanner. You
could try turning off the email scanner.

Email them again is the only other suggestion I have. I'm beginning to
wonder if they are even getting their email. I had a problem with activating
my account & eventually had to call tech support to get it activated.

Most free numbers are only for domestic calls. I suppose it it like that
too for SD number.

Btw. Alexander, are you using a Visa elektron card? Because it's not a
credit card and can't be used for internet purchases even if it says
Visa in it... Or even if it could be used many systems have difficulties
understanding that.

According to my calculations, the problem doesn't exist.

When I lived overseas I never made calls to another country, so I didn't
know how it worked. Thanks for the info.

There are exceptions, so I'm only quessing. SD has to confirm if it
works or not.

I received the following e-mail from Stardock:

"Please resubmit your order, entering only numbers and letters from the
Roman, or Western, alphabet, with no symbols or accent marks.

Otherwise, this error occurs when your bank/credit card company is
unable to authorize the transaction to your account."

So no ÄÄ, ÅÅ or ÖÖ, even if the name on the VISA card is written with
those letters.

Well that sounds like 1990's to me :) Well it seems companies overseas
still think that alphabet consists of letters from A to Z :-| Or maybe
it's because their keyboards don't have the symbols :)

I would recommend you include your card
details so that they can process the order on their side if indeed it
did not go through, but it's up to you.
Send credit card details in an email! Surely you're kidding?

I've never had my credit card details stolen by emailing them to
someone, and I don't know anyone that has. Conversely, I had an *actual*
credit card and over £1000 stolen from my account when a card got
intercepted in the post just a few months ago. I trust email more than
many other mediums, because I know it's rare for people to actually be
involved in carrying my message. :-)

So do like it says and email ***@stardock.com. :-)

You will probably recieve a reply by Monday evening your time (morning
their time).

Most likely your card has not been charged for some reason, but they
would be able to tell you. I would recommend you include your card
details so that they can process the order on their side if indeed it
did not go through, but it's up to you.
